The Thunder Bay International Baseball Association (TBIBA), the International Baseball Federation (IBAF) and the Arts and Heritage Alliance of Thunder Bay (AHA) have joined forces to create a one of a kind festival of entertainers, artisans and cultural touchstones in and around the Thunder Bay area.
The World Festival will consist of the four components – the World of Entertainment, the World of Arts and Culture, the World of Information and the World Stage. Each World component will showcase the diversity and talent that is abundant in Thunder Bay and in Northwestern Ontario.
“I am continually delighted by both the quality of creative talent we find in entertainers and artisans in this region” stated Clint Kuschak, Interim Executive Director of the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra and liaison for AHA. “We are excited to bring this talent to the World.”
The 2010 IBAF World Junior Baseball Championship will focus the eyes of the baseball world on this city for 10 days this summer. “Fans that come to the games will experience a slice of the culture that is Thunder Bay and see some of the best undrafted baseball players on the planet” says Warren Philp, Executive Director of the TBIBA. “This will be a an amazing sporting and entertainment event, perfect for the whole family”
“We have begun the process of looking for buskers, jugglers, clowns, choirs, dancers , artisans, artists, community groups and anyone that wishes to show the world what Thunder Bay has to offer” says Todd Maki, Festival Coordinator. “This is a world class city and the world should know it”
