THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – A Colorado Low continues tracking toward Northwestern Ontario. There are winter storm warnings out for Kenora, Grassy Narrows, Vermilion Bay, Dryden, Fort Frances, Atikokan, as well as for areas on the Eastern shore of Lake Superior.
Thunder Bay remains outside of the storm warnings as of 8 PM on Saturday night.
In Thunder Bay, there are snow flurries in the forecast. Amounts of 2 to 4 cm. Winds up to 15 km/h are in the forecast.
Snowfall warning in effect for:
- Dryden – Vermilion Bay
- Kenora – Grassy Narrows – Whitedog
- Sioux Narrows – Nestor Falls – Morson
- Fort Frances – Emo – Rainy River
Snowfall of 15 to 20 cm is expected through tonight.
Snow is spreading into Northwestern Ontario this afternoon and will taper off by Sunday morning. This snow is associated with a Colorado Low that will track across the Great Lakes on Sunday.
There are also snowfall warnings in effect in Northeastern Ontario.
In Elliott Lake, the forecast is calling for Snowfall amounts of near 15 cm or so are likely by late Sunday afternoon. Some additional accumulation is possible Sunday night as well.
Snow associated with an approaching Colorado Low will develop overnight and persist through the day Sunday. Snow may be mixed with ice pellets at times late overnight and early Sunday morning.
