THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay Police have closed circle on a suspect who earlier in January fled from police and caused a manhunt in the Bay Street neighbourhood.
A Thunder Bay Police Service Officer has arrested the suspect who fled after a January, 14, 2019 collision.
The officer observed the accused driving in the area of Christie and McLeod Streets just before 11 am on Wednesday, January, 30th. The accused was known to be a disqualified driver with outstanding warrants.
The officer attempted a traffic stop on McIntosh Street, at which point the accused exited the vehicle he was driving and fled on foot down a back alley.
The officer engaged in a foot pursuit, but anticipated the suspect’s route and was able to cut him off and complete the arrest on the sidewalk area of Christie Street.
Stephan PARR, 40, of Thunder Bay has been charged with Operation of a Motor Vehicle while Prohibited and, Resisting a Peace Officer.
As a result of the ongoing investigation into the January 14th incident, PARR was also charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Stop After Accident, Flight From Peace Officer.
PARR appeared in court Thursday morning and was remanded into custody with a future court date.
