THUNDER BAY – North Superior Workforce Planning Board – your Local Employment Planning Council has developed a Guide to Developing Indigenous Inclusion Policies to assist employers and businesses to establish inclusive and welcoming workplaces in the Thunder BayDistrict.
The Guide to Developing Indigenous Inclusion Policies by the Local Employment Planning Council is about workplace policy development to encourage Indigenous inclusion. This Guide is intended to assist companies and organizations to develop an Indigenous inclusion policy.
“This guide is available to all businesses but is especially intended to assist smaller employers that may not have a Human Resources (HR) department or background in policy development,” said Madge Richardson, Executive Director, North Superior Workforce Planning Board – your Local EmploymentPlanningCouncil.“It is intended as a starting point for businesses and their owners to develop policies and encourage the introduction of practices into their operations that will establish an inclusive and welcoming workplace for all their employees and customers.”
Richardson further stated that “the adoption of an Indigenous Inclusion Policy sends an important message both to your management and staff as well as external audiences, that your company hasmadeaseriouscommitmenttoworkingwithIndigenouspeople, businesses and communities and that you are committed to inclusion.”
