Weather Alert EndedTHUNDER BAY – WEATHER – updated – weather alert has ended.

Wet snow at times heavy is expected across the region overnight. Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement.

Special weather statement in effect for:

  • City of Thunder Bay

Areas of heavy wet snow and poor travel conditions likely tonight.

Heavy wet snow continues for areas close to Lake Superior this evening. The snow may fall heavily at times for much of the night, particularly for areas inland from Lake Superior.

Some areas may see in excess of 10 cm of snow tonight. Travel conditions are expected to be very poor at times. Localized power outages due to the weight of the heavy snow have also been reported.

Snow is expected to change to rain later tonight or Monday morning as warmer air moves in.
