THUNDER BAY – Charges laid against Roger Donald McKay in the homicide of Ashley Chantel McKay have been dropped.
In our original report, Thunder Bay Police had charged four individuals in the death of the twenty-five-year-old Indigenous woman who as murdered at a building in the 200 block of Cummings Street.
Thunder Bay Police report that Roger Donald MCKAY, 34, of Thunder Bay appeared in court on a charge of First-Degree Murder on Oct. 31, 2018. He was remanded to the district jail.
The ongoing investigation has led to this charge being dropped.
He was released from jail unconditionally on November 1.
Marlene Lou KWANDIBENS, 37, Terryl Nicole Irene MICHON, 21, and Darren Steven OOMBASH, 24, all of Thunder Bay, remain in custody each charged with First-Degree Murder.
A post-mortem examination of the victim is expected to take place in Toronto.
