THUNDER BAY – Tourism Thunder Bay officially opened the Terry Fox Information Centre on Oct. 29, 1993. This week they celebrate 25 years of greeting visitors and providing information on how to best enjoy our spectacular region.

“During the last 25 years we have welcomed over 1.5 million visitors through the doors,” said Paul Pepe, Tourism Manager. “If you look at the map on the wall inside the centre, you can see how many people have come through. It’s amazing how far our visitors have travelled to reach us; from all across Europe and South America, even Siberia! The Terry Fox monument itself is so iconic, and the setting up here is so peaceful, this is just a really special place to the residents of Thunder Bay, and to all Canadians.”
