THUNDER BAY – On 04 October 2018, at 9:00 PM, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue Service received an alarm for a shed in a rear yard on Court St. N. Three pumpers were dispatched. The first arriving unit encountered a shed fully involved in flames. A second shed close by was starting to catch fire as was a neighbours fence.
An attack line was used to extinguish the flames, bringing the fire under control. A second alarm was initially called for but was cancelled due to the quick extinguishment of the fire. The siding of the neighbours home was damaged from the radiant heat.
Eight firefighters worked on the fire with no injuries to them or the homeowners. Though the cause of the fire is undetermined, it is not considered suspicious in nature.
