THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police have made an arrest in a shooting incident that happened on May 8th, 2018.

Police report that a 26-year-old Thunder Bay man was arrested yesterday and charged with multiple offences including attempt murder in relation to a shooting on Brodie Street on the evening of May 8, 2018, that sent a male victim to the hospital with injuries.

The 26-year-old victim was released from the hospital shortly after receiving medical treatment for his injuries.

Police say that “Diligent work by investigators with the Criminal Investigation Branch to collect evidence and interview witnesses led them to request a warrant for the arrest of Jordan Thomas in relation to this shooting”.

Members of the TBPS plain clothed Community Response Team observed him walking in the area of McMurray Avenue and Ogden Street just before 11:00 am on October 3, 2018. He was arrested without incident and escorted to the Balmoral Police Station.

Jordan Joshua Kenneth Thomas appeared in court this morning on the following charges:
· Attempted Murder
· Reckless discharge of a firearm – life or safety
· Possession of Firearm contrary to a Prohibition Order
· Possession of Firearm contrary to a Prohibition Order
· Careless use of a firearm
· Point a firearm
· Possession of weapons dangerous
· Carry Concealed Weapon
· Unauthorized possession of a firearm without a license
· Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a weapon
· Prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition

Thomas was remanded into custody. This investigation is ongoing.
