13-Year-Old Faces Homicide Charges in Winnipeg

WINNIPEG – Winnipeg has yet another homicide. Winnipeg Police report that on September 24, 2018, at approximately 4:00 p.m., emergency services personnel responded to a report of a male that had been assaulted in the railway underpass on McPhillips Street near Logan Avenue.

The victim, a 17-year-old male, was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Members of the Winnipeg Police Homicide Unit continued with the investigation and believe that the victim was stabbed during a physical altercation with another male.

On September 28, 2018, at approximately 11:05 am., North District General Patrol unit officers located the suspect in the 700 block of Stella Avenue and placed him under arrest after a brief foot pursuit.

A 13-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with Second Degree Murder and has been detained in custody.
