THUNDER BAY – ROADS – The City of Thunder Bay is finalizing the development of the new Designated Truck Route.

The Designated Truck Route will be put in place to manage heavy truck traffic in the city and would lead to a new by-law implementing the plan.

A report to Council on the Designated Truck Route was withdrawn in June after stakeholders expressed concerns with the implementation of the route.

Development of the new report requires comprehensive input from the public. Residents and businesses are invited to learn more and have their say by attending the drop-in public open house, on Tuesday, Sept. 18, from 4:30 – 6:30 pm, with a the presentation taking place at 5 pm, at the Italian Cultural Centre.

“We have received significant interest from the community on this project,” said Kayla Dixon, Director of Engineering and Operations. “We look forward to hearing what the public has to say about the proposed route and implementation.”
