OPP have laid a number of charges in a stolen vehicle investigation

SAULT STE MARIE – On September 3, 2018 members of the Sault Ste. Marie Detachment’s Highway Safety Division (HSD) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a vehicle speeding on Second Line in the City of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

A traffic stop was conducted and as a result of further investigation, Brett DAVEY 29 years-old of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario was charged with the following;

  • Care or control of a motor vehicle over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code,
  • Speeding contrary to section 128 of the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on October 1, 2018, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

WAWA – On Friday, August 31, 2018, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East (Chapleau) Detachment responded to a local Chapleau address regarding a report of a family dispute. At the scene, the preliminary investigation revealed that a male had been assaulted by a female.

As a result of the investigation,

A 28 years old Coldwater, Ontario, a female was arrested and charged with the following offence:

  • Assault – Spousal, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused person has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Chapleau, Ontario on October 15, 2018.

WAWA – On Saturday, September 1, 2018, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East (Chapleau) Detachment responded to a local Chapleau address regarding a report of a family dispute. At the scene, the preliminary investigation revealed that a male had been assaulted by a female.

As a result of the investigation,

A 19 years old Chapleau, Ontario, a female was arrested and charged with the following offence:

  • Assault with a Weapon- Spousal, contrary to section 267(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused person has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Chapleau, Ontario on October 15, 2018.
