Thunder Bay Man Dies after Cliff Jumping Accident

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – On September 1, 2018, at approximately 6:36 pm, officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a request for assistance from Superior North Emergency Medical Service (EMS), regarding an incident that occurred at Hawkeye Lake.

It was reported that two males had decided to jump from a cliff that was situated on Hawkeye Lake. One of the males jumped from a cliff and upon hitting the water, the male suffered critical injuries.

Evan HINSPERGER, 30 years of age, from Thunder Bay, was transported to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, and was pronounced deceased.
