New World Pharmers, Beast and Buddies welcome Chief Isadore Day as an advocate to promote sustainable Indigenous economies through infrastructure and economic opportunities
Toronto – At the New World Pharmers board meeting this week, Isadore Day, Bimaadzwin CEO and former Ontario Regional Chief, spoke about the importance of working with First Nation communities as equal partners in creating long-term prosperity for future generations. Chief Day said the key to creating happy, healthy communities are by building long-term sustainable economies that are linked to protecting the lands, air and water for future generations.
“Land means everything to our Peoples,” said Chief Day. “We must protect our environment at all costs for future generations, for all peoples in Canada and on this planet. The key to doing that is through access to available “new-gen” technology that can produce green energy, clean water, and fresh, organic food security in all communities, from the south to the remote North.”
New World Pharmers is a green group of companies that is dedicated to creating and empowering self- sustaining Indigenous economies. Most recently, First Nation Growers (FNG), located at Wasauksing First Nation, joined the group of companies. FNG is focused on developing and building Advanced 4Seasons Agriculture “Net-Neutral-Energy” greenhouses for cold and hot climate Advanced 4Seasons Organics Agriculture Community Garden Farms that will produce healthy foods, herbs, and traditional medicines to sustain communities year-round, within the Indigenous community itself.
New World Pharmers Board Chairman, Nicholas Macos, is a senior partner at Black Sutherland Lawyers in Toronto and a former director of the Canada Lands Company: “My background in real estate, construction, sports, entertainment, and the especially now within alcohol and gaming industry and with the Ontario Cannabis landscape soon changing, is well-suited to providing New World Pharmers, and their Indigenous partners, with the experience and expertise needed to deal with mainstream Canadian business and industry.”
Former National Hockey League Alumni Shayne Corson and Bryan Trottier are active spokespersons of Beast and Buddies, a vertical Division of New World Pharmers dedicated to producing natural organic life-enhancing products for both people and pets. Beast and Buddies draw its inspiration from Mr.
Corson, who has suffered from ulcerative colitis since the age of 15, and still managed to have a 21-year professional hockey career.
“As a professional athlete, and now a businessman, I feel that I have an obligation to inspire and give back to so many people that have been there for me throughout the years, and many who are not only hockey fans, but fans of the game that truly binds our country together, both non-native and native players, many that have been some of the greatest players ever to play,” said Mr. Corson. “As someone who suffers from a sometimes very painful disease, I want others to benefit from healthy living through natural herbs and medicinal medicines that enhance the quality of one’s life. Beast and Buddies will also support an Indigenous Healthy Lifestyles Web Platform, the Little NHL, the Ontario Junior Hockey League Foundation in support of mental health, and the NHL Alumni. These are all passions that my friend Bryan Trottier and I share.”
New World Pharmers and Beast and Buddies will be participating at the First Nation Economic Advancement Conference (FNEAC) in Toronto, September 18-20. For more information, visit www.ofenda.com
