THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police are working to make our community safer. There has been a number of arrests lately of drug dealers. A few days after the arrest of Kurt Downer, after a weekend standoff at 288 Windsor, police have announced the results of a drug investigation that led to more arrests this morning.
Several of the individuals arrested are from Southern Ontario. Police have been witnessing a growing presence of gang members in our community selling drugs. Part of the reason is the level of addiction in the city, and the remoteness which means prices in Thunder Bay are higher.
Members of the TBPS Intelligence Unit made several arrests last evening at a Fulton Boulevard apartment in conjunction with a drug investigation which began earlier in the month.
Officers executed a search warrant and arrested four individuals that were in the residence. A search resulted in the seized drugs believed to be heroin and crack cocaine valued at over $39,000 along with approximately $15,000. A Taser was also located in a purse belonging to the female that was arrested.
