Manitoba RCMP Officer Shot in Onanole

WINNIPEG – UPDATED – The RCMP in Manitoba has confirmed that three suspects are in custody in relation to RCMP officer shooting in Onanole last night. The investigation is continuing to determine if any suspects outstanding

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Manitoba confirmed that an officer has been shot and has received what the force is calling serious injuries.

The shooting happened near Onanole Manitoba. The Officer has been transported to the hospital.

RCMP advise that local residents can expect a heavy police presence throughout the Onanole region and please avoid the area.

RCMP report, that “The information we have at this time: RCMP are searching for 2-3 suspects. They may have split up with some possibly travelling in a black 2005 GMC Sierra extended cab pickup truck with Manitoba licence plate GBX 476 and some on foot. They were last seen on PR 262. They are considered armed and dangerous.

“What citizens can do: Please be vigilant. The RCMP asks residents in and around Onanole to report anything suspicious by calling 911 immediately. We are also reminding residents in the area to check all doors and windows to ensure they are closed and locked.”
