More Charges Pending against Kurt Downer
Thunder Bay – NEWS – Thunder Bay Police have provided an update on the standoff in the Windsor Housing Complex that happened this weekend. Police report that Kurt Maurice Downer, 36 years old from Toronto appeared in court on Sunday morning and was remanded into custody.
Downer has been charged with:
· Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
· Flight from Police
· Resist a Peace Officer
· Unlawfully in a Dwelling
· Breach of Recognizance
· Breach of Probation
A search of the residence that the suspect was arrested in has been conducted. That search resulted in a loaded semi-automatic handgun being located along with drugs in a quantity consistent with drug trafficking.
Further charges are pending the completion of the investigation.
The vehicle that was used by the suspect in this incident has also been seized and towed as part of this ongoing investigation.
