Thunder Bay – WEATHER – Severe Thunderstorm Warning has ENDED.
6:26 AM EDT Monday 27 August 2018
Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for:
- City of Thunder Bay
At 5:26 a.m. EST (6:26 a.m. EDT), Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking an area of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain.
A line of thunderstorms is moving over Northwestern Ontario early this morning. Wind gusts near 90 km/h, locally heavy rain and hail are possible within these thunderstorms.
Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Fast-moving water across a road can sweep a vehicle away. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!
Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
