THUNDER BAY – NEWS – At approximately 3:20 AM, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to its 3rdstructural fire in the last 24 hrs.

The caller stated that their smoke detectors were sounding, which woke them up and they could hear crackling in the ceiling.

First arriving Pumper crew reported that flames were visible from the roof, of a single story home.

5 Pumpers, 1 Water tanker, and 1 aerial ladder responded.  22 Fire Fighters attended.

This fire was difficult to access due to the construction of cathedral ceilings lined with 1-inch wood.  The cause is under investigation.

Fire and water damage was extensive and has displaced the 2 occupants and their pet.
