Police Seek Public Assistance in Attempted Abduction Incident

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance with an investigation into an incident that occurred on June 5, 2018, at Confederation College.

Between the hours of 9:45 am and 11:00 am a female student was approached by a male who asked her to accompany him. When she refused, he attempted to grab her. The female was able to evade the male and run to the college for assistance.

The suspect is described as a non-white, bearded male with black hair, black eyes and a tattoo on his right forearm. He was wearing dark pants and a light-colored sweater.

This interaction occurred on the concrete walking path between the main entrance to the Shuniah Building and the “F” parking lot on the north side of the building.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed this incident or may have information regarding the suspect to contact the Thunder Bay Police at 684-1200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or www.p3tips.com.

Police urge all members of the public to be aware of their personal safety and surroundings.

The investigation is ongoing.
