Hormone replacement therapyNEW YORK – LIVING – Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is now widely used in many countries around the world. To prolong their youth and to slow aging, millions of women “treat” menopause with hormone replacement therapy. The main feature of the HRT is that it replaces those female hormones whose secretion has decreased with age. Thus, all the health problems associated with climax are solved at once.

Climacteric Syndrome Symptoms

The Pill - Hormone Replacement Therapy

Climacteric syndrome includes several major groups of symptoms that complicate the natural course of menopause if National HRT not followed. Often, ailments are associated with the development of hypertension, diseases of the musculoskeletal system, and disruptions in the endocrine or urogenital systems.

Some of the most widespread symptoms of climacteric syndrome are the following ones:

  • Irritability;
  • Fatigue;
  • Depression;
  • Hot flashes;
  • Cognitive impairment;
  • Weight gain

In this case, the deterioration of the condition, in particular, hot flashes (body temperature increases by 5 degrees), sweating, dizziness, palpitations can occur at any time of the day. Constant waiting for an “attack” affects the mood and causes emotional stress. As a result, a beautiful lady turns into a stressed, dead tired person within a few months. The good news is that the climacteric syndrome can be managed with hormone replacement therapy. However, it is important to find a competent specialist to treat as clinically warranted.

What Is Hormone Replacement Therapy?

Hormone replacement therapy is a course of treatment aimed at replacing the missing hormones in the body. As the level of hormones is restored, the symptoms of climacteric syndrome get rapidly removed. In addition, HRT prevents the development of long-term effects of menopause, such as osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease.

To prevent first health problems associated with the condition, hormone therapy should be started as soon as possible – with the appearance of the first symptoms of menopause. To alleviate the early symptoms, it is sufficient to take HRT for two years. However, for the prevention of osteoporosis, HRT should be followed for at least 5-10 years after menopause.

Composition of HRT Preparations

The composition of drugs for HRT includes the two components:

  • Estrogen;

Both are female sex hormones responsible for many processes occurring in a female organism. With the onset of menopause, estrogen is produced in much lesser amounts, which causes the appearance of vegetative, psychoemotional, and urogenital disorders. Therefore, estrogens are the main component of all types of HRT drugs. As part of the modern pharmaceuticals for hormone replacement therapy, only natural estrogens are used.

On top of that, HRT preparations are supplemented with progesterone. The component reduces the likelihood of cancer of the uterine mucosa (endometrium). Therefore, it is prescribed for all women taking HRT in the menopause, except for those who have their uterus removed.
