THUNDER BAY – A south-side shooting outside Newfie’s Pub had a 28-year-old taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Thunder Bay Police report that officers attended to the corner of Victoria Avenue and Brodie Street last evening at 9:45 p.m. on a report of an assault that had occurred. When officers arrived they discovered that a male had been shot while he stood outside Newfie’s Pub on the sidewalk with a number of other people.

The 28-year-old male was taken to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Center by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries and has since left the hospital. Police say that the injuries are consistent with shotgun pellets.

The crime scene was processed by Scenes of Crime and Traffic officers last evening and the area has been released by police.

Investigators with the Criminal Investigations Branch are continuing the investigation.
