THUNDER BAY – POLITICS 2.0 – David George Noonan, who was the runner-up in the 2014 Election in the Red River Ward, has decided to take another run for the seat.
In a media release, Noonan states he is is a community activist involved in several groups and organizations. He is currently the Secretary for SHIFT: Thunder Bay’s Young Professionals Network, he has been involved with Thunder Bay’s Active Transportation and Walkability Committees. He is an active member of Zone Watch. He also spends time participating and volunteering for many events. David George Noonan was a recipient of the Thunder Bay-Superior North Canada 150 award for his community service. Noonan and his partner have been a host family for the Border Cats baseball team for the past seven years.
“I am passionate about the community and neighbourhood I live in. I am running to help improve and grow our city. I want to see Red River Ward get its fair share of infrastructure dollars. I am running for a more sustainable and environmentally prosperous Thunder Bay. We deserve improved safety in our neighbourhoods. I want Red River to have a Councillor who will stand up for its ward and help push Thunder Bay in a progressive direction. I believe in the potential of our community. With my voice on Council, we can build a stronger Thunder Bay.”
David George Noonan is 38-years-old. He works at Superior Foods, a local food distribution warehouse and meat plant. He is married to Shannon Costigan. Noonan has lived in Thunder Bay for thirteen years.
