WINNIPEG – WEATHER – There is a winter storm warning in effect for all of southern Manitoba. Environment Canada has updated their warnings and advisories ending all advisories for Kenora and parts of Northwestern Ontario. The storm bearing down on Manitoba, however, looks like it is going to bring in significant snow which will impact travel on Sunday night and into Monday.

A Colorado low will bring a wintry mix to southern Manitoba beginning Sunday and taper off Monday evening.
Freezing rain will start over southern Manitoba Sunday morning. Main areas affected will be confined to regions south of the Trans Canada Hwy. Freezing rain will transition to heavy snow Sunday evening. Snowfall totals over the central and southeastern regions will be around 10 cm by Monday evening.
Heavy snow with accumulations of 20-25 cm and blowing snow will begin over western regions of the province Sunday evening. Easterly winds increasing to 40 km/h will combine with the falling snow to give significant visibility reductions in snow and blowing snow.
