THUNDER BAY – Day-Starter – Good morning Northwestern Ontario. If you are driving today, it is probably a smart idea to make sure you top up the windshield washer fluid, and when making your way around city streets to be aware of pedestrians and puddles. Warm temperatures are going to melt lots of snow over the next couple of days.

The forecast for Thunder Bay is calling for clearing skies early this morning. There will be increasing cloudiness late this afternoon. The forecast high will be plus 4. Further west, in Kenora, Environment Canada is calling for increasing cloudiness with a 30 percent chance of flurries late this morning and this afternoon. The high in Kenora is forecast to be minus 2.

Patrick Brown is out. The former leader of the Progressive Conservatives is out of the leadership race. On Monday, Brown released a statement dropping out of the race. There are published reports in the Toronto Star that Brown’s decision came hours after he found out the Hamilton Police are investigating issues surrounding riding nominations. Brown’s statement, however, says he needs to focus all his energies on the lawsuit against CTV, protecting his family and friends, and that the PC Party’s future is in good hands.

The lowest prices for a litre of gasoline continues to be in Dryden. Fuel prices across the region range from $1.169 at the Petro Canada on Government Street in Dryden, $1.184 at the Husky on Chipman Street in Kenora,  In Thunder Bay, the lowest price in the city is $1.219 at the Esso at 645 Arthur St W.
