THUNDER BAY – DAYSTARTER – Happy Family Day Northwestern Ontario. For Thunder Bay the work of digging out from 15-20 cm of snow is underway. There are no weather alerts in effect for the city. There are Extreme Cold Advisories in effect for the Far North.

For Thunder Bay, it is currently -17c under mainly cloudy skies. There is a 30 percent chance of flurries late this afternoon. Winds becoming north 20 km/h this morning. High minus 12. Wind chill minus 30 this morning.

The Far North has extreme cold warnings in effect.

A period of very cold wind chills continues. A bitterly cold Arctic air mass remains entrenched over Far Northern Ontario. Extreme wind chills values of minus 45 to minus 50 will continue through the morning.

The lowest prices for a litre of gasoline continue to be in Dryden. Fuel prices across the region range from $1.109  at the Co-op and the Safeway in Dryden, $1.219 at the Husky on Chipman Street in Kenora,  In Thunder Bay, the lowest price in the city is $1.216 at the Real Canadian Superstore on Memorial.
