Thunder Bay Police Arrested and Charged a Passenger with Assault

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Thunder Bay Police officers were dispatched to the Thunder Bay International Airport and boarded an Air Canada flight just after 4:00 p.m. on January 12, 2018.

Officers were briefed on the situation by the flight crew and requested the male to exit the plane.

He complied and was arrested once outside the plane.

Awali Yusuf Abdi, 31 years old from Ottawa, Ontario has been charged with Assault in an Aircraft in Flight contrary to section 77(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada. He was remanded into custody on Saturday and will appear in court again this afternoon.
