Thunder Bay ChillTHUNDER BAY – The Colorado Foxes undefeated start to the season was ended Wednesday night when the Thunder Bay Chill defeated the Foxes 4-1. Brandon Swartzendruber led the way with two goals, in a game that was delayed, and almost canceled due to stormy weather.

Swartzendruber opened the scoring for the Chill in the 22nd minute. He was the beneficiary of some beautiful passing between Pedro Pereira and Gustavo Oliveira, who setup the Chill leading scorer with a shot at the top of the 18-yard box for the goal. The Chill took the 1-0 lead in to the halftime, but the Foxes came out hard in the second half, equalizing in the 54th minute. It only took ten minutes for Swartzendruber to grab the game winner, as he slotted home a penalty kick in the 64th minute. Three minutes later the game was sealed by Gustavo Oliveira, who scored on a free kick in the 67th minute. Luis Gonzalez rounded up the scoring, which saw the Chill score three goals in six minutes, when he headed home a corner kick in the 70th minute.

With the win, the Chill are now undefeated in eight games, taking a record of eight wins, one loss, and one tie, to Des Moines, Iowa, to face the Menace on Friday and Saturday night. Games on July 8th, and 9th, will take place at Valley Stadium, kicking-off at 8:30 p.m. (EDT).
