KENORA -CRIME – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-Kenora Community Street Crime Unit with assistance from the Organized Crime and Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) and the OPP Regional Support team, have charged a Kenora man with drug-related charges following an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking in the City of Kenora.
On Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at approximately 9:45 am, as a result of an ongoing investigation, police arrested a male in the north end of Kenora. A brief foot chase ensued and the male was taken into custody without incident.
Upon searching the male, police located approximately 3 grams of Methamphetamine, 3 grams of Marihuana, and other items associated with the drug trafficking trade. The male was also found to be carrying a concealed weapon. The street value of the drugs is estimated to be nearly $1000.
As a result of this investigation, 28-year-old Harley MCLEOD of Kenora has been charged with;
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking-Other Drugs s. 5(2) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).
- Possession of a Schedule II Substance-Cannabis Marihuana-under 30 grams s. 4(1) CDSA.
- Resist Peace Officer s. 129(a) CC.
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon s. 90 CC.
He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
