Dryden Police Lay Charges in Motor Vehicle Accident

DRYDEN – Dryden Police Service has laid charges against both drivers involved in a motor vehicle collision involving a school bus and a passenger car on December 6th. Police were called to the intersection of Government Street and Duke Street just after 5 pm on December 6, 2017. The collision involved a school bus carrying 9 students and a passenger car that collided at the intersection. A third truck was struck and sustained damage during the initial collision.

The 56-year driver of the passenger car has been charged with Amber Light-Fail to stop under the Highway Traffic Act.

The 61-year-old driver of the school bus has been charged with Turning not in Safety under the Highway Traffic Act.

In further news, on December 8, around 11 pm, the Dryden Police Service responded to a call on Pitt Avenue where someone was trying to break into a residence. By the time police arrived the suspects had fled the scene. Two sets of tracks were located leading away from the residence.
