MESH Thunder BayCoordinator for MESH Thunder Bay – Initial Development Project

What is MESH Thunder Bay?

MESH is a community engagement process, one that aims to unite all of Thunder Bay with a common cause and inspire people into committing to making our city a better place for everyone.  MESH stands for Measure, Empower, and Strengthen Happiness. It intends to accomplish this by implementing online surveying tools based upon the Gross National Happiness principles, social media tools to foster discussion and engagement, and managing activities intended to make change resulting in increased well being.

What is the Initial Development Project?

In order to move the MESH Thunder Bay initiative forward we need to explore critical success factors, broaden community engagement/input and create a realistic implementation strategy.  This work will be completed over the next few months and is an important step in building momentum and refining the concept.  We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual or firm from Thunder Bay who can act as a coordinator for this project.  The deliverables for the project will address the following areas: research into best practices and other community’s experiences, development of strategies for surveying and statistical analysis, assessment of community support (motivators, barriers, level of involvement), development of process, technology, and financial model for the success of the initiative.

The timeline for the Initial Development project is 4 months with a target start date of July 27th, 2011.  Responses to this request for proposals are due by:  July 18th, 2011 at 12:00 noon.  More information on the requirements for the response are posted on our website at www.nwoinnovation.ca.or click here to view the pdf. Please submit your proposal to:  MESH Thunder Bay, c/o Judy Sander, Manager, NWO Innovation Centre via email: judy@nwoinnovation.ca.
