THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police Service are investigating two reported cases of break and enter into businesses, one in which a suspect or suspects attempted to steal a safe.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers responded to the first reported break and enter (P17073998) at the second floor of an office on South Syndicate Avenue shortly after 8 a.m. on December 3.
An investigation revealed that a suspect or suspects gained entry through a broken window between noon December 2 and 8 a.m. December 3. A cash tray had been pried open. An investigation also revealed a second nearby business had been entered in a similar fashion.
Just after 6:30 a.m. on December 4, Thunder Bay Police Service officers responded toa break and enter at the Victoriaville Mall (P17074103). Officers arrived and found a safe suspended in a skylight area of the ceiling by metal fencing. Officers recalled the previous break and enter reports to a nearby business (P17073998) in which a safe appeared to have been moved, but not taken, during a break and enter.
