RED LAKE – Officers of the Red Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an adult male driver with impaired driving.
On November 18, 2017, at 1:31 a.m. Red Lake OPP stopped a 2011 motor vehicle on Hammel Road in Red Lake. Following an investigation, officers determined the male driver was impaired. Officers also located a quantity of Cannabis Marijuana.
James MCKEE, age 22, of Red Lake, is charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to Section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code, Operating a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code and Possession of a Schedule II substance – Cannabis Marijuana – under 30 grams, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drug and Substance Act.
MCKEE was released on a Promise to Appear in Red Lake Court on January 11, 2018. The vehicle was impounded for 7 days and he was issued a mandatory drivers licence suspension.

None of the charges have been proven in a court of law.
