crimebeatTHUNDER BAY – Crimebeat – Warmer weather and a lack of rain, along with the weekend boosted the crime over the weekend in Thunder Bay.

There were eleven assaults reported, ten break and enters, over thirty incidents of property crime – which remains one of the fastest growing crimes in the city.

As well there were several reports of vehicle theft.

On Blutcher Street on the north side of the city comes a report of a person who is apparently breaking into homes at night to steal women’s purses and wallets. Warm nights don’t eliminate the need for home security. Keep those lower level floor doors and windows locked.

There was a weapons offense reported at Donald and Lillie Street on Saturday.
