DRYDEN – SPORTS – The Dryden GM Ice Dogs continue to strengthen their blueline with the recent acquisition of Eagle Lake First Nation’s Trevor Kavanaugh from the Waywayseecappo Wolverines of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL).
Kavanaugh will join two other local players, Trey Palermo and Graham Oliphant. The 6’1”, 205lbs defenseman comes to the Dryden GM Ice Dogs’ team in time for their season opener on Friday, September 22nd, 2017 against the English Rives Miners.
The addition of Kavanaugh further builds on the City of Dryden and surrounding area’s strong hockey history, according to Dryden GM Ice Dogs’ President, Mike Sveinson,”The Dryden GM Ice Dogs as a local, community driven organization are proud to feature local players this year in Dryden’s Trey Palermo, and Graham Oliphant and are thrilled to have added Eagle Lake First Nation’s own Trevor Kavanaugh to the team. Trevor’s hockey pedigree, and his family’s back story motivated us to get him home, where he belongs to be the backbone of the team that will ‘Keep Bill Home’.”
