$42k in Drugs Removed from Attawapiskat
Attawapiskat, ON – On September 12, 2017, a drug investigation by the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit, Guns & Gangs Unit, and Attawapiskat Detachment resulted in one man being charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
A search conducted by police resulted in the seizure of Methamphetamine pills and Oxycodone pills with a combined northern street value of approximately forty-two thousand five-hundred ($42,500.00) dollars.
A thirty-year-old male from Attawapiskat First Nation has been charged with two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. The male cannot be identified at this time due to the process of court document filing. The male has been released on conditions and will next appear in court in Attawapiskat on November 15, 2017.
Attawapiskat First Nation is located approximately 630 kilometres north of Timmins, Ontario.
