Rainfall Warning

THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – Grab the umbrella and raincoat. If the forecast is right, people are going to need them.

Environment Canada has issued a Rainfall Warning for Thunder Bay and region.

Rainfall warning in effect for:

  • City of Thunder Bay
  • Cloud Bay – Dorion
  • Kakabeka Falls – Whitefish Lake – Arrow Lake
  • Nipigon – Rossport
  • Beardmore – Jellicoe – Macdiarmid
  • Gull Bay – Black Sturgeon Lake
  • Atikokan – Shebandowan – Quetico Park
  • Upsala – Raith

Rain, at times heavy, is expected according to the weather service.

Rain will begin early Thursday morning and continue until Friday morning. Rainfall amounts of 50 mm or more are expected from this event.

If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
