LONG PLAIN FN – CRIME – RCMP have arrested and charged a sixteen-year-old teenage with first-degree murder on Long Plain First Nation.

A warrant was issued for the arrest of the youth arrest on Saturday following a homicide on the Long Plain First Nation.

On Saturday police were engaged in a manhunt for the suspect. On Sunday, police announced he had been taken into custody.

The name of the victim isn’t being released.

The name of the sixteen-year-old youth will not be released as per Canadian legislation.

Long Plain First Nation is about 100 kilometres west of Winnipeg.

RCMP are investigating the homicide along with the Dakota Ojibway Police Service, which serves several southern Manitoba First Nation communities.
