ATV Accident Victim Identified by OPP

BATCHEWANA FIRST NATION, ON – Updated – At approximately 4:20PM EDT on August 4th, 2017 Batchewana First Nation Police (BFN) with the assistance of the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Batchewana Fire and Rescue attended the scene of a single all-terrain vehicle (ATV) rollover on an access gravel road at the end of Goulais Mission Road approximately 200 meters west of Cemetery Road on the Batchewana First Nation Territory.

The ATV was westbound on the roadway and entered the south grass line striking a stump causing the ATV to rollover.  All three occupants were wearing a helmet at the time of the rollover. There were three persons on a non-passenger single rider ATV.

The deceased driver of the ATV has been identified as 54 year old Suzanne ROSS of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

The two child passengers, a 13 year old male and a 10 year old female received minor injuries.


An earlier report from the OPP stated that the driver and passenger were not wearing helmets. The OPP has amended their press release since the first report.
