ATV Accident Claims Life on Batchewana First Nation

BATCHEWANA FIRST NATION TERRITORY – The Ontario Provincial Police report that at approximately 4:20PM EDT on August 4, 2017 Batchewana First Nation Police (BFN) with the assistance of the Sault Ste. Marie OPP were called to the scene of a single all-terrain vehicle (ATV) rollover on a trail off the Goulais Mission Road on the Batchewana First Nation Territory.

The female adult driver of the ATV and the two child passengers, one male and one female were transported to hospital by Emergency Medical Services (EMS). The female driver sustained life threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at hospital.

The male and female passengers received minor injuries.

The investigation is still ongoing with the assistance of two OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI).
