THUNDER BAY – LIVING – It was an early start to day 3, as our group ventured off on the Hogwarts Express to the Terry Fox Lookout and the KOA Campground. With a few minutes of rain coming down on our way to the lookout, we were lucky enough to have the sun return shortly after we arrived.
We had a few photos taken at the Terry Fox Lookout, and then headed over to the Thunder Bay KOA campground.
The staff at KOA were so welcoming and very excited to host our morning activities. Our campers were very entertained with the variety of activities to participate in. The activities were fishing in the pond, mini putt, a driving range, playing in the splash pad and swimming in the heated pool. Everyone had a blast!
After some fun in the sun, we were served with a very tasty lunch of beef on a bun and ice cream for dessert. Our campers were very full and happy with such an exciting morning.
In addition to all the fun we had, we are so grateful for the generosity of Thunder Bay KOA for its donation of $1500, and KOA Care Camps for its donation of $3500.
After lunch we headed back to our magical campground for a much needed rest. Once toes up time ended, we greeted the Thunder Bay Police Association on site. The police took the kids out for a lesson in catching the enchanted fish of Loon Lake.
Next it was on to the annual competition with the Police, this time in the form of ‘Muggle Quidditch’ – in other words, a game of soccer. As per usual, the Camp Quality team finished strong with an 11-1 win!
We had much to thank the Thunder Bay Police Association for, as they wrapped up their visit with a delicious BBQ dinner and a presentation of a $500 donation.
With lots of new energy to burn, our campers were off to the CQ Tennis Tournament. Campers Braeden and Connor took the title for first place in the tournament.
With a full day of back-to-back activities, it was time to rest up for another full day of exciting activities. Stay tuned for the fourth edition of the CQ Daily Prophet.
This is the sixth year that NetNewsLedger.com have hosted the Camp Quality Northwest blog. NetNewsLedger is pleased to support the work of Camp Quality, and the ongoing battle to beat cancer. On a personal note, cancer has taken both of my grandparents, it tried to take my mom. There are few people in Northwestern Ontario who are not impacted by cancer.
When cancer takes on children, it is time for us all to rally to help them.
