SIOUX LOOKOUT – Theft of Motor Vehicle and Impaired Driving Charges

SIOUX LOOKOUT, ON – On June 13, 2017, at approximately 3:40AM CDT the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Sioux Lookout Detachment, as well as the Sioux Lookout Fire Department responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Drayton Road in Sioux Lookout.

When the OPP officers arrived at the scene, they located a vehicle which had rolled over. The driver had apparently fled the scene on foot.

As a result of investigating this incident, the driver, Abraham GLIDDY (20) of Sioux Lookout was arrested and transported to Sioux Lookout OPP Detachment for breath tests.

GLIDDY was subsequently charged with:

  • Theft of Motor Vehicle contrary to Section 333.1 of the Criminal Code
  • Driving while ability impaired by alcohol contrary to Section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
  • Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood contrary to Section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.

GLIDDY will appear in Sioux Lookout Court on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at 9:00AM CDT to answer to these charges.
