Thunder Bay, ON – The final spot on #teamstaal2017 was given away today thanks to an exciting event hosted by Fountain Tire this afternoon. Featuring a skills and luck competition between kids ages 9-14, participants had to collect points along the way as they participated in a number of challenges including ladder golf, road hockey shooting, Frisbee curling and more.
The three top points earners were then entered into a draw for the final spot to play in the Fountain Tire Summer Classic this July 10 as part of the Staal Foundation Open, presented by Tbaytel.
Jeff Hunter, Assistant Manager from Fountain Tire was thrilled to announce that Garrett Winters officially joined #teamstaal2017, along with five other kids announced on Friday which were: Edelweiss Price, Erica Geddes, Jadan Desormeaux, Steven Stadey and Ethen Friesen.
“We had a fantastic afternoon with lots of laughs, some great showcases of skill and, of course, lots of fun. Fountain Tire is ecstatic to be the presenting sponsor of the Summer Classic because we know how incredible the game is going to be. Stacked with NHL greats like the Staals, plus so many other celebrities, these kids are going to have the time of their lives.”
The Fountain Tire Summer Classic will take place on Monday, July 10, following the Opening Ceremonies at Whitewater Golf Club for the Staal Foundation Open, presented by Tbaytel. Fans are encouraged to arrive at 9:30 a.m. to take part in a myriad of activities available on site including an Interactive Zone, mascots, and more.
