On May 20th the world’s best STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® athletes will smash four trunks into firewood in less than one minute with their razor-sharp axes and saws. The STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Champions Trophy is the toughest of all woodchopping competitions demanding the utmost in stamina, concentration and technique from these top athletes.
At the Champions Trophy the eight best athletes from the World Championship compete in a relay-style race with one goal: to be faster than the opponent. The athletes have to compete four events in one go which adds an endurance element to the competition. The order of events is: Stock Saw, Underhand Chop, Single Buck, Standing Block Chop. It’s a head to head knockout race so once you lose, you are out.
This year’s competitors: Jason Wynyard (NZL) / Brad Delosa (AUS) / Martin Komarek (CZE) / Matt Cogar (USA) / Stirling Hart (CAN) / Christophe Geissler (SUI) / Roger Gehin (FRA) / Dirk Braun (GER)
