THUNDER BAY – A strong Toronto Marlboros side remained unbeaten at the all-Ontario AAA bantam championship at the Fort William Gardens after thumping the Thunder Bay Kings 8-0 in round robin action Wednesday afternoon.

Toronto improved to 5-0 in the seven-team event with the one-sided triumph while Thunder Bay fell to 0-2-2.

The Marlboros led 2-0 after one period, 4-0 through the second then put the game away with four markers in the final frame in the convincing triumph.

Will Cuylle paced the Greater Toronto Hockey League reps by racking up five points, including a hat trick.

Reid Valade added a goal and three assists while Stephen Halliday tallied twice and helped set-up another for the Marlboros.

Lleyton Moore chipped in with three helpers as well.

Aidan Spooner made 13 saves to post the shutout for Toronto while Connor Lemieux faced 37 shots in defeat for the Kings.

Thunder Bay returns to the ice tonight at 7 p.m. vs. the Fort Frances Canadians in a pivotal contest in their efforts to try and qualify for Friday’s semifinals.
