THUNDER BAY – NEWS – At 03:31AM on March 18 2017 Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to a fire in a townhouse on Limbrick Street.

Heavy smoke could be seen as the nearest company pulled out of the station. A second alarm was immediately called. On arrival that crew found a mid-row unit to be heavily involved in fire on two floors. They deployed 45mm hand lines and applied water. Other arriving crews  immediately began evacuation of the adjacent units.

Once the fire was brought under control and conditions allowed a search was conducted. All occupants had escaped. There were no injuries to report.

The unit suffered heavy damage. There was light smoke and some water damage in the adjacent units. A number of people have been temporarily displaced from the town homes immediately adjacent to the burned unit.

Both Superior North EMS and Thunder Bay Police were on scene to assist. There were five pumpers, on aerial ladder and a command truck on scene. A total of 22 fire fighters worked on this fire.
