OTTAWA – SPORTS – The Lakehead men’s basketball team (3-10) lost to the undefeated Carleton Ravens (12-0) tonight, 96-58 in Ottawa.
The Thunderwolves battled with the Ravens for the entire first quarter. The ‘Wolves were down only 24-20, going into the second where they were able to bring it within 1. Carleton pushed ahead and led at the half 41-31.
Lakehead continued to fight in the second half, but found their deficit only increasing. The Ravens outscored the ‘Wolves 55- 27 in the second half, finishing off the game 96-58.
The Thunderwolves were out rebounded 53-28 with 22 being offensive boards for Carleton.
Henry Tan and Mor Menashe led the team with 12 points each. Bacarius Dinkins had 11 and Mike Theodore put up 9 points.
“Great effort and competitive level from our guys tonight. We continue to put ourselves in good situations against the best teams but just haven’t broken through yet. Good bye-week for us coming up to make a run at these last 6 games of the season,” says Coach Furtado
The Thunderwolves are off next weekend and will play the following week on the road against Laurentian and Nipissing on February 3rd and 4th.
