OTTAWA – TECH – In cities across the planet, new transportation options are shifting how we move people and goods. The rapid introduction of apps such as UBER and Lyft, as well as car share organizations are disrupting cities’ traditional mobility infrastructure. And more change is coming! Automated Vehicles are no longer science fiction, and this technology has the potential to completely transform urban travel and land use. Cities need to be considering how these changes might impact their communities now, and in the future. How well is your city prepared?

Join us for Preparing for Automated Vehicles in Cities, taking place on November 17, 2016 at 3:00 PM ET. This 60-minute webinar features Sean Rathwell, Transit and Urban Mobility Specialist with Dillon Consulting Limited, a firm that works every day to help clients throughout Canada with urban transportation, planning and design challenges.

In order to better understand and serve its clients, Dillon recently undertook a series of interviews with several of its municipal and transit clients in order to learn more about their plans and concerns related to Automated Vehicles. How are they preparing for Automated Vehicles? What do they think will change as a result of Automated Vehicles? The answers to these questions and more will be summarized in this presentation, highlighting the concerns raised, and explaining why each of these issues is significant.

Those attending the presentation will learn:

  • The difference between Automated, Autonomous and Connected Vehicles;
  • How Automated Vehicles may impact cities in the future;
  • What Canadian cities are worrying about regarding Automated Vehicles;
  • What should be done in the near future for cities to be better prepared for Automated Vehicles.
  • And much more!

The fee for this webinar is $199. This fee gives you access to the live webinar and Q&A session as well as access to the recording that you can share with your entire organization.
