CALGARY – Sports – The Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) announced Friday the appointment of Tom Annelin, as its new Director of Communications.

Annelin enters his position with the CJHL with an extensive background in media relations, communications, journalism, statistical information, website administration and social media applications.

The Thunder Bay, Ont., native, who now resides in southern Ontario, also provides media and communications services for a pair of CJHL member organizations in both the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) and the Superior International Junior Hockey League (SIJHL).

“The CJHL is looking forward to Tom’s pension for thoroughness and hard work in servicing the media requirements on behalf of the CJHL, its member leagues and teams,” offered CJHL President Brent Ladds.

Annelin, a graduate of the Sports Administration program at Durham College in Oshawa, Ont., is looking forward to his role working alongside the 10 leagues and 132-member clubs that comprise the CJHL.

“This is an exciting challenge and a tremendous opportunity for me to be able to work with Kirk Lamb (CJHL Chairman) and Brent Ladds, along with each of the Commissioners and staff members of the leagues and teams in the CJHL from across the country and portions of the U.S.”

Annelin’s duties with the CJHL begin immediately.
