BLAINE, Minn. – Team Wisconsin scored the game’s first six goals and went on to thump the Thunder Bay minor midget Kings 8-1 Saturday in North American Prospects Hockey League action in Blaine, Minn.
It was close through the first period in this one as the two sides went scoreless.
Wisconsin got going in the middle stanza however as they struck three times and carried the 3-0 margin into the final frame.
In the third, Wisconsin pumped in three more in the first eight minutes of the session to break it open.
Christian Veneruzzo supplied the Kings lone tally 9:12 in the third before their opponents tacked on two more to complete the one-sided decision.
Jordan Smith suffered the loss in goal for Thunder Bay.
The minor midgets finish up their first weekend of NAPHL play Sunday when the take on Pursuit of Excellence of Kelowna, B.C. at 11:30 a.m.
